The prophet’s plaint – “peace, peace, but there is no peace” – resonates forcefully in our world. How can we move from our hearts’ desire, from every religion’s promise, to peace in our world, to peace in our inner being?
The biblical prophets, Jain philosophy, Buddhist epistemology, Eliot’s “Waste Land,” the Bhagavad Gita, Gandhi and MLK are considered and a meeting of inner and outer aspects of peace is suggested.
