Photography by Rafi Katz

I'm Rafi Katz, a Forest Preschool teacher at the Boulder JCC (Jewish Community Center) in Boulder, CO. Because the Forest School classrooms operate outside year-round, much of my time is spent outdoors, not only interacting with the children I teach, but also with the nature and wildlife all around us.

Along with my teaching, I have also gotten more serious about my photography. It is a useful tool for me to share with preschool families photos of their children engaged in outdoor activities and exploration. So too, it affords me the opportunity to capture the nature and wildlife we interact with on a daily basis and share those images with my students and all who are interested.

I invite you to explore some of my favorite photos here. Click on each image so you can see it in full.
