So they could learn about the history and customs of the Jews of Kochi, Katz and Goldberg lived for a year in Jew Town, the first foreigners to do so for that length of time there in more than a century.
During that period, they took part in the daily, religious and social life of this ancient and honored community – in essence, “living Jew Town,” as residents described it.
